What is WORKit?
WORKit is a local service that is accessible to the South Waikato District community. We assist youth into employment by networking and connecting our clients with local businesses. WORKit fills in the gaps to employment and provides ongoing support.
Are your clients police vetted?
Our clients can be vetted if it is an employer requirement. However, we do not vet our clients.
What support does WORKit provide for businesses?
WORKit provides support for local businesses and their employees by providing PPE gear, start-up tool kits, clothing, transport, etc. We can help cover the costs of taking on new employees by suppling necessary items. We ensure our clients are equipped to work to a high standard.Will your clients be able to pass a medical test?
Our clients are well-prepared to enter the workforce. We ensure each client is able to pass a pre-employment medical check prior to commencing employment.Do your clients hold driver licenses?
We assist our clients by providing the use of NZTA road codes, free driving lessons, and we will cover the cost of licensing. We aim to get each client to their restricted license, however a full license is what we aim for.Do your clients have a form of transport?
Not all clients have their own mode of transportation. We can assist with transportation until our clients are able to do so independently. However, those who do have their own vehicle will be aided by WORKit to make sure they can get to and from work safely.Are they work ready?
Yes, we ensure our clients have had the necessary pre-employment preparation and training before being placed into full-time employment. We assess each clients capabilities and match them to the appropriate available job positions.

How can WORKit help me?
WORKit helps the clients by providing a majority of pre-employment preparation necessities. If there is something holding you back from getting into full-time employment, we can help! Whether it is clothing, transportation repairs, lack of tools, food, etc. There is a multitude of ways we can help, as long as you are motivated and dedicated to gaining employment.
Can WORKit help me get a driver’s license?
Yes. We offer free driving lessons, sit in sessions to read over the NZTA road code, mock tests for learners theory, and we will cover the cost of licensing.
Can you help me get a job?
Yes, we meet with each individual client to gain an understanding of their interests, potential career pathways, and surrounding environmental factors. We use this information to look for the best suited job vacancies in the district. We fit each client to a role that allows growth and career development.
